How to Dive Old Man's Hat

Overview

Located just off North Head near Manly, Old Mans Hat is one of Sydney’s most scenic boat dives. The site features steep rocky reefs that drop down to around 22 m, covered in sponges, sea tulips and colourful soft corals. Expect to encounter schools of yellowtail, blue groper, and the occasional wobbegong or cuttlefish cruising by. Visibility is often excellent and conditions are usually calm thanks to the site’s sheltered position inside the heads — perfect for advanced divers looking for a relaxed yet rewarding dive.
